Nuke Snippets

0 ratings

You can save any group of Nuke nodes and load them in your scenes as snippets. You then build a library of snippets for building your graphs faster, improving your workflow.

If the folder is on a shared disk you can use the same library of nodes with other users.

The snippets will even appear in the Node Graph when pressing the TAB shortcut just like any other node.

If you accidently delete a snippet, the file will be put in the "deleted" subfolder in case you want to retrieve it manually.

HOW TO INSTALL:

1. Change this line (14) in the nuke_snippets.py to the folder you want your snippets to be saved. You can put that in a folder that is frequently backed up so that you never lose your settings.

2. Put the .py script and .png image in this folder:

3. Add these lines in the menu.py file in the same folder, if the file it doesn't exists create it

The new menu will appear in the sidebar on the left. Just select some nodes in the nodegraph and press Add. It will automatically create a new entry menu to call them anytime you want.

OPTIONAL:

If you want to put the tool in the main menu bar instead of the sidebar, remove the "#" from the beginning of line 65:

Although you will lose the ability to call your snippets with the tab shortcut in the Node Graph.
